Colorado Springs to Host USA Triathlon Youth National Championship
July 31, 2008 (COLORADO SPRINGS, CO) USA Triathlon anticipates more than 200 youth and junior triathletes will travel to Colorado Springs to compete in the Youth and Youth and Junior Elite National Championships on Saturday, August 9. Many of the participants are from Colorado, so there wil be a real local feel to the event.
Aretha Thurmond still itching for a medal
(by Steve Kelley, Seattle Times) Aretha Thurmond won the Olympic trials in Eugene, Ore., last month with a discus throw of 213 feet, 11 inches, earning a spot on the U.S. Olympic team for the third time. She quit her job as a UW fundraiser, packed up and moved with her infant son to Auburn, Ala., to work full time with a throws coach there.

Associated Press - MARYSVILLE, Wash. - Newly graduated from Marysville-Pilchuck High School, Haley Nemra just quit her two-year job at Nic and Tony's Pizzeria. She was the slender, dark-haired teenager behind the counter with loads of personality. She made pizzas, calzones, submarine sandwiches and espresso drinks. She made everyone smile.
